The Customer tab

Whether every buyer becomes an Odoo contact or one shared customer is used, and the accounts and journals that go with it.

The Customer tab

The two approaches

A contact per buyer — every Salla customer becomes an Odoo contact with their own name and details. Useful if you want per-customer analysis, and it makes your contacts list grow quickly.

One customer per method — every cash-on-delivery order is posted to one customer and every online-payment order to another, and no customers are created in Odoo at all.

Turning on the shared customer

Turn on Use one customer for COD and one for online payment, then choose the two customers. You can also pick a specific customer per shipping company and per payment method from the tables underneath.

Skip Customer Company

When on, the connector does not write the customer's company name when creating or updating them in Odoo. Turn it on if the company data coming from Salla creates unwanted parent contacts.

Force Update Partner Accounts

Used when the normal update of a contact's receivable and payable accounts fails. Requires a company to be selected in the Odoo Configuration panel.

Accounts and journals

At the bottom of the tab you choose:

  • The receivable and payable accounts used on contacts.
  • The default sales journal for cash on delivery, and another for online payment.
  • Two tables for setting a different journal per shipping company and per payment method.

A missing journal stops the invoice

The most common reason orders appear on the Create Invoice Error screen is an unset journal for the payment method used on the order. Check this tab first when that screen fills up.

Payment journals are on the Accounting side

The payment journals (as opposed to sales journals) are set with the rest of the accounting settings. Make sure both are configured before you enable the pay step.
