Products with variants
How sizes and colours are handled, and why the parent product is not created.
The variant is what sells
A product with sizes and colours has a parent and variants in Zid. The connector cares about the variants because they are what actually gets bought, and what has a SKU and stock.
The parent is skipped
The parent product is not created in Odoo on its own. This is deliberate: it would add an item with no SKU and no stock that no order ever uses.
Each variant is mapped separately
Each variant has its own SKU and is linked to its own Odoo item. On the Products screen they appear as separate rows.
Match only one variant
A setting on the Accounting tab makes the connector settle for matching a single variant rather than trying to match them all. Only used in specific cases.
The Odoo variants must exist
If the Odoo item has no variants while the Zid product has sizes, matching cannot succeed. Create the variants in Odoo first.
Check before going live
Variant products cause more product errors than anything else. Try an order containing a variant before you rely on the connector.
