The difference between them
Creating produces the delivery order in Odoo. Validating actually carries it out and deducts the stock. Validating is what changes your balances.
Why creation fails
No picking type set.
Wrong warehouse or stock location.
A service-type product that has no delivery.
Why validation fails
Not enough stock in the warehouse — the most common.
Serial or lot tracking that requires manual selection.
The picking is already validated.
Serial tracking needs a human
If your products are tracked by serial number or lot, the connector cannot pick them for you. Validate those pickings in Odoo by hand.
Retry once the cause is fixed
Fix the cause first, in Odoo or in your settings, then press Retry on the row. Retrying without fixing the cause fails with the same message.
