Setting up online quantity sync
What the connector creates inside Odoo Online, and how to run it safely.
1Odoo Online hosting only
This screen is for Odoo Online hosting only. On Odoo.sh you get "Products Quantities" instead.
2Why a special setup is needed
Addons cannot be installed on Odoo Online. So the connector builds what it needs with standard Odoo tools instead of an addon.
3Where the button is
On the Odoo Configuration panel inside the Configuration screen: Add Fields, Views and Cron.
4Start with Check Only
Beside the button, Check Only produces a report of what exists and what would be added, without writing anything to Odoo. Always use it first.
5What gets created in Odoo
A model storing the product quantities queued for pushing.
Fields on the company including the merchant id and a switch to enable quantity updates.
A menu inside Odoo for viewing this data.
Two scheduled jobs running every twenty minutes.
An automation rule that notifies the connector when quantities change.
6The two scheduled jobs
The first prepares quantities: it walks your products and records what changed. The second posts what was prepared to the connector. Both run every twenty minutes and can be triggered by hand from Odoo.
7The switch on the company
Nothing is prepared unless the Update Zid Quantity switch is enabled on the company in Odoo. If your screen is always empty, check this first.
8Running it again is safe
The button does not create things twice; it only adds what is missing. You can run it again after any update without worry.
