Jisr vs ZenHR vs TECFY Attendance: Which Fits?

ComparisonsSeptember 24, 20265 min read

If you are searching for a Jisr alternative, the first question is not which product is better, but what you need the system to do. Jisr and ZenHR are full HR and payroll suites built around Saudi compliance. TECFY Attendance is our own product, and it does something narrower: it captures and calculates attendance very precisely, then hands clean figures to whoever runs payroll. This comparison sets out what each one does according to its own website, as of September 2026, so you can pick on fit rather than on marketing.

Short answer: choose Jisr or ZenHR if you want payroll, WPS files, Mudad and GOSI handled in the same system as attendance — both are quote-based. Choose TECFY Attendance if payroll is already handled (by your accountant, Odoo Payroll or another system) and what you need is reliable check-in — phone, face with liveness, NFC, beacon, Wi-Fi or fingerprint devices — with published prices starting free for up to 5 employees.

Jisr: when payroll and government portals come first

Jisr describes itself as an all-in-one HR, talent and spend platform for Saudi businesses. On attendance, its features page mentions biometric and geofencing tools, a mobile app to punch in and out, and shift set-up that covers Ramadan and summer schedules with overtime compensation. Its bigger strength is what happens after attendance: automated payroll, end-of-service calculation, and integrations with GOSI, Saned, Muqeem and Mudad, with Qiwa listed as coming soon.

Fits: companies that want one vendor for attendance, payroll and government filings, and are comfortable with quote-based pricing.

ZenHR: HR and payroll across MENA

ZenHR's Saudi page lists attendance via GPS, QR code or biometric devices, with attendance syncing into payroll. For compliance it lists WPS file generation and submission that is Mudad-compliant, automatic GOSI contribution calculation, end-of-service calculation, and a Muqeem integration for expatriate residency data. Pricing is by quote.

Fits: companies with staff in several MENA countries, or those wanting HR, payroll and WPS in one system.

TECFY Attendance: when attendance itself is the problem

TECFY Attendance focuses on one question for each employee each day: were they at work, and for how long? A punch comes from a device, a phone, a browser or an approved manual entry; the day is calculated against the employee's shift; approved leave, excuses, remote-work days and manual entries are applied; and the month is locked before it goes to payroll. Raw punches are never edited, so every figure traces back to its source.

What that includes, per our product pages and user guide:

  • Check-in methods: mobile GPS, NFC tags, Bluetooth beacons, approved Wi-Fi, the company LAN, the web portal, and fingerprint or face devices through a connector program on your network.
  • Identity: facial recognition and liveness detection against spoofing (Golden plan), or fingerprint, PIN or location per employee.
  • Shifts: nine time limits per shift, night shifts that cross midnight, overtime thresholds and caps, and deductions for a missing punch.
  • Overtime: requested, approved, then confirmed by a completion report — the report, not the request, is what counts.
  • HR records: contracts with basic and hourly salary, allowances, leave balances, IBAN on the employee record, approvals and delegations.
  • Period close: lock requests, review, then lock the period — the month freezes and is ready for payroll.
  • Reports: daily, monthly and violations reports, exported to Excel or PDF.

What it does not do: calculate payslips, generate WPS files, or connect to Mudad, GOSI, Muqeem or Qiwa. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out after signing up. If you need that path, read how attendance gets to Mudad and WPS.

How to decide

Ask three questions:

  1. Where will payroll run? If the answer is "in the HR system", shortlist Jisr and ZenHR. If payroll already runs in Odoo, with your accountant or in another tool, you are really choosing an attendance system.
  2. How do your people check in? Field teams and multiple sites need geofenced mobile check-in; high-risk sites benefit from face verification with liveness; factories may want to keep fingerprint devices. Compare methods, not logos — see biometric attendance vs fingerprint devices.
  3. What will it cost at your headcount? Get written quotes from Jisr and ZenHR and compare them with TECFY's published per-employee prices.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Jisr, ZenHR and TECFY Attendance?

Jisr and ZenHR are full HR and payroll platforms with Saudi government integrations such as Mudad and GOSI. TECFY Attendance is an attendance and workforce platform: check-in by phone, face, NFC, beacon, Wi-Fi or fingerprint device, shifts, leave and requests, and period close — but it does not run payroll.

Is TECFY Attendance a full Jisr alternative?

Only if you do not need payroll inside the same system. TECFY Attendance produces the attendance figures payroll needs and exports reports to Excel or PDF, but it does not calculate payslips, generate WPS files or connect to Mudad or GOSI. Companies that run payroll elsewhere often only need the attendance part.

How much do Jisr and ZenHR cost?

Neither publishes prices on its website as of September 2026; both are quote-based through a demo or price request. TECFY Attendance publishes its prices: free for up to 5 employees, then 10 SAR or 40 SAR per employee per month.

Which one supports face recognition?

TECFY Attendance offers facial recognition with liveness detection on its Golden plan. Jisr's site mentions biometric and geofencing tools, and ZenHR's site lists GPS, QR code and biometric devices; check the exact method with each vendor during a demo.

Can I keep my fingerprint devices?

With TECFY Attendance, yes: fingerprint and face devices send punches through a small connector program on your network, alongside mobile check-in. Jisr and ZenHR also mention biometric device support on their sites.
