Salla Stock Not Syncing with Odoo? Fixes

GuidesSeptember 24, 20266 min read

When Salla shows the wrong stock, you either oversell or hide products you actually have. With the TECFY Odoo Connector, quantity sync follows a small set of rules, so the problem can almost always be found by working through the causes in order. This guide lists them — from the most common to the rarest — with the exact screen to open for each, based on the connector's documentation.

Short answer: stock syncs one way, from Odoo to Salla. Check, in this order: the item is mapped; its stock sits in a location selected on the Odoo company record; quantity updating is on with the right merchant ID; the Odoo-side setup for your hosting is in place; on Odoo Online, 20 minutes have passed (or press Sync Now from Odoo); there is no red bar; and the error column on the quantities screen is empty.

First, know how stock is supposed to move

Odoo is the source of truth. The connector reads the available quantity in Odoo and writes it into Salla, never the other way. If someone edits a quantity in the Salla dashboard, that change does not reach Odoo and is overwritten at the next sync.

How fast it moves depends on your hosting:

Only one of those two screens appears, depending on the hosting type set in the configuration. If you cannot find a quantities screen, check that setting first (hosting type).

1. An unmapped item gets no quantity

The connector cannot update an item whose Salla counterpart it does not know. Mapping matches the Salla SKU against the Odoo barcode, then barcode, then internal reference. For products with options, every combination needs mapping. The quickest long-term fix is to make each Salla SKU equal the Odoo barcode; the Update Barcode button on the mapping screen writes Odoo barcodes into mapped Salla products for you — try it on a few products first, as it edits your live store (how matching works).

2–3. Locations and the company switch live in Odoo

The locations counted for Salla are chosen on the company record inside Odoo, not in the dashboard. Stock in any other location shows as zero in Salla. The same page holds your Salla merchant ID and the quantity-update switch.

4. The Odoo side for your hosting

On Odoo Online the connector builds what it needs through Odoo's standard interface — a model, views, a Tecfy Salla menu, fields on the company record, two scheduled actions and an automation rule. An empty quantities screen means this has not run. Running it again is safe; it creates only what is missing (Online setup). On Odoo.sh or self-hosted, the addon must be installed from the Odoo Apps store before you turn the switch on (TECFY addon).

When Odoo's stock itself did not change

Sometimes the sync works, but Odoo's number is wrong. Two causes are specific to orders:

  • The delivery was never validated. Stock leaves the warehouse when the delivery order is validated. That step runs only for the Salla statuses assigned to it on the Status tab. If validation fails, the order sits on the Validate Stock Picking Error screen — most often for insufficient quantity in the chosen location, then a wrong source location, a non-storable product, or a missing serial or lot number. Fix the cause, then Retry (picking errors).
  • Several Salla products point to one Odoo item. Intended for bundles sold under different names; a mistake if it came from a bad automatic match, because sales of one product then reduce another's stock. Review the With Multi Salla Products screen and unlink what should not be there (multiple products on one item).

Prevent it next time

  1. Make every Salla SKU equal the Odoo barcode, including each variant.
  2. Change quantities in Odoo only — never in the Salla dashboard.
  3. Select every location that holds sellable stock on the company record.
  4. Assign the stock and delivery statuses on the Status tab, and check the error screens daily.
  5. After a stock count, press Sync Now from Odoo on Odoo Online.
  6. Keep your Salla app subscription renewed on time — late renewal is a common reason the token breaks.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Salla stock not updating from Odoo?

With the TECFY Salla Odoo Connector, the most common cause is an item that is not mapped between Salla and Odoo. Next come stock held in an Odoo location that is not selected for Salla, quantity updating switched off on the Odoo company record, and the Odoo-side setup for your hosting type not being in place.

How often does stock sync from Odoo to Salla?

On Odoo.sh or a self-hosted Odoo with TECFY's addon, the change is pushed the moment stock moves. On Odoo Online, where addons cannot be installed, scheduled actions run about every twenty minutes; you can force it with Sync Now from Odoo.

Can I edit stock in Salla and have it reach Odoo?

No. Odoo is the source of truth for quantity and the sync runs one way, from Odoo to Salla. A quantity edited by hand in the Salla dashboard does not reach Odoo and is overwritten at the next sync.

Why did Odoo stock not drop after a Salla order?

Odoo's stock only falls when the delivery order is validated. If the Salla status for validating the stock picking is not assigned, or validation failed — usually for insufficient quantity in the chosen location — the order appears on the Validate Stock Picking Error screen and stock stays unchanged.

What does the red bar at the top of the dashboard mean?

It means the Salla access token is no longer valid. While it shows, no quantities are written to Salla and new orders do not reach Odoo. Reauthorize the app from the Salla app manager, then pull any orders missed during the outage.
